Do you comply with the ADA? You might need to even if you don’t realize it. Working out of a home office that you also have clients in, is considered a public place and the parts of your home used by the public must comply with ADA regulations. Things such as your bathroom needs to be a certain size, have handrails near the toilet, and the hallways have to be a certain width.
Vacation properties that offer time shares for one week or less also qualify for this.
Commercial properties that have a space used for public activities are required to have that space compliant with the ADA. Private clubs that have a public space are also included in this.
The section of concern is Title III. “Public and commercial facilities by private entities”. The main clause in this is you must remove barriers and make reasonable modifications to the structure. Barriers can include installing a ramp for access to the structure.
